Thanks guys! I stole the picture hanger idea from another person here on the nation too. It's very simple to build, but think about how tall your bridge will be when planning it out. Because the picture hangers stick up a bit, it's been challenging to lower the string action on this build and keep enough tension on the bridge to prevent buzzing.
The drawer pull fits pretty tight in a 3/4" hole, but I also added a large flat washer between the jack and the inside of the box for extra strength. I shimmed it tight with toothpicks and glue for good measure.
The bridge is acrylic and transfers the tone to the box and piezo really well. I think lexan should work just fine too - both materials are easy to shape with standard woodworking tools and are tough enough to prevent the strings from cutting in.
