  • Thanks guys! It was a real challenge and I had to cover some minor mistakes... I'm not thrilled with having to use string trees but they fit the aesthetic. The proportions of the guitar turned out the way I wanted - both for his playability and the overall look of the guitar.
And it sounds terrific! The short scales and small box means it's not super loud acoustically, but it's loud enough. And I cut down a 4-string rod piezo to 3 for the first time and it works! Very loud when plugged in and almost no noise at all.
I'm pleased overall and I think he will be too. We both perform in sideshows - I bark and do strongman - and he does a blockhead act. He wanted to expand his repertoire but never played guitar before. He originally wanted a uke, but I didn't think his hands would work out too well on a 4 string. I steered him to a 3-string and here we are. Linked him to Shane's tutorials so hopefully he'll be up and at 'em in no time.

  • nice craig

  • Love it Craig!!! You're a good friend :-)

  • Nicely done.  I like short scale for everything but fretless.
