3-String Cigar Box Guitar/Bass

John Nickel inspired CBG: disc piezo and 1-pole pickup with separate jacks. 20.1” scale length GDG. Alder neck, Lowe’s yardstick fretboard, Modge Podged fabric on body and headstock, 3D printed holders for T-pin frets. Single pole pickup goes to octave pedal and then to bass amp. It has that fat “John Nickel” sound! I put this build off way too long!!!

    Thanks Dave! Yes the nail is sharp, but my playing style doesn’t put me in the danger zone. You are correct, a 3D printout holds the nail. I got smart and printed them with different heights and put them in an organizer box; it really simplifies the set up.

    Very nice Doug. Is the nail sharp? I’d rip my wrist on it even if dull. Is that another 3D printout holding the nail? That’s cool!
