Pretty sure that's padauk for the neck. My friend gave me a box of wood and some of them I'm only guessing at.

    I usually try to use local hardwoods but when I'm given a gift of wood this nice I make exceptions. There was also a nice long piece of 8/4 mahogany in there that I'll most likely use for necks.
