Finally found a use for these behemoth speaker cabinets I cobbled together a few years ago. They're 3/8 plywood with kind of a tweed fabric covering. Each holding 3 speakers (15",12" and 8"), a horn and a crossover circuit.
I was in need of a PA for the weekend and my son suggested we try this ancient Traynor tube amp PA head that he had kicking around. I had little hope of it even working, but plugged the dang thing in - hooked it up to these cabinets and it works like a champ! Not a whole lot of power, but enough for what I'll need and surprisingly whisper quiet - no hum crackle or nothin'.
