Tried something new on this one. I used a 10" compound miter saw and vise clamps to cut the scarf joint. It worked really well. Much easier than I anticipated. I also used a rod piezo embedded under the bridge bolt. Bought the rod piezo from Gitty. Sounds really nice. The whole thing has a banjoey "if that's a word lol" tone.

  • I just built one with a scarf joint as well.  Also has a Route 66 theme - I'll post pictures soon.  This looks very nice and clean - well done!

  • Thanks! I used 1/4 red oak for the finger board. By the way I bought a 1/4" x 18" dark wood dowel for the fret marker inlays which cost me about $1.50. What's great I can get quite a few guitars out of it.
