I still had some of my old ash bucket so I thought why not,one more time.Square reso you ask?Why not it works and sounds great. It almost has a eco to it wild!Has a piece of a piezo and what's funny it works great, almost no feedback at all.And has the tooth pick frets that I love will use from now on.The neck is made of (my last piece of hard rock maple).I took some grass string and bradded it and then burned off the fuzz.It looks great, very cool and very retro.I am proud of this one. Thanks for looking at my work.I hope to get better and better at this.

  • Cool!!
  • I just eye ball the final hight look down the neck.I use a metal file to flaten the tooth picks. You will love the look. And they wont wear out like you think as long as you have a lot of coats of finish. There's a guy named blues boy jag that uses this very set up on one of his guitars that's used in his concerts. He says he been using the guitar for years and the frets are still like new.Till my next build see yall
  • Thanks for the info....heres to 2010 and more CB builds...
  • Well I use round tooth picks and crazy glue.I then file them flat on top and dreaa up the sides. The glue I use is crazy strong, becomes a part of the neck will break the wood before they come off.I just think these kind of frets are more vintage looking than the real frets. The glue came from hobby town there store brand.I'm glad you all like my builds as I have a ball doing them in my cold shed slash work shop.
  • Very nice work Charles, very creative. Why do you like the toothpick frets? Are they just glued down, or are they flat or round?...sounds like a song lyric...Ha!...but seriously I have never seen them up close and I have fretted my first three builds with fret wire. How do you square them. I know its a lot of questions but I will prolly try this type of fretting on some build in 2010...Happy Holidays....Brian
  • superb build! im with you on the toothpick frets btw
