  • I sold this one, so I can't measure it, and I don't remember the scale. Most tenors are in the 21-3/4" to 23" range. Most have 19 frets to the body (but this will vary depending on the dimension of your box). Tenor tunings vary but CGBD is popular. You can make a short scale tenor with 15 - 17" scale and tune it like a mandolin (GDAE) or Viola (CGDA). Those tunings are easy for mando, fiddle or bass players to master. You could use the longer scale and run 3 or 4 double courses and call it a "boxzuki". Tune it Cc-Ff-Aa-Dd, and a guitar player will be right at home (1 full step below the top 4 strings of a guitar).
