That is so cool! What a great idea! It kind of looks like a set of stairs. How about shoe prints (womans heels, workboots, barefeet) for fret markers right left right then right and left at the twelveth fret and on.
How about a strip of 1/16" thick brass a little taller then the step for the strings to touch attached to the face of the riser?
Wouldn't it make a great fretted slide guitar with low action for great fingering too?

This could be done perfectly with a router jig somehow. This will be a fun one to work out!
