  • You're doing great Antonio. This is going to come out beautiful. I just got some hide glue on ebay. I got violin grade hide glue for $4 and shipping. My bag of flakes is about a sandwich bag full. Many bridges worth.
  • thanks Dave thats what it is ,  Ive got to get me some o dat !!!   have you seen the bridge yet ?  i posted on another pic.  I had some pics of  how i did the back angle on the neck. i wanted to post a discussion but didnt know how to put the pics up

  • Hide glue. It's good in that you can take it apart later. I'm sure you'll get other ideas from others in Nation. Most old guitars with glue down bridges use hide glue.
  • im going to mount a bridge and saddle like an acustic guitar. with string pins. no tail stock. the bridge will hold the full tension of all three strings. this is why im trying to find the right glue for the job. may check out stew mac.
  • If you use a tailpiece leave the bridge loose so you can move it around a little to set your intonation. If you have an adjustable saddle (metal bridge with individual saddles) you could screw it down. I like the tailpiece method myself as i make my own wood bridges and adjust the height of the bridge with shims under the bridge to raise it and sanding to shorten it. If you do glue down a bridge, i'd use Titebond original glue.

  • A hardtail? I would probably screw that on.

  • Thank you Dave and Richey,  this will be my first  bridge on the soundboard , so im working on making sure the top dosent pull off when i string and tune it .  Im in the process of trying to figure out the best glue for my bridge , if you guys have any suggestions im all ears, or eyes in this case .
