  • thank you guys , i appreciate the comments

  • Seconded.

  • VERY cool.

  • oh and youd br proud, that headstock is four pieces of oak , i layed out the grain pattern to almost match the top, and get wings in the bottom. that was fun.

  • well i didnt like the straight drop off from the fret board to the neck , and i had a small spot i had gouged with the router. I patched it with glue and sawdust. but i seen it.  no one else prolly could , but i could.   I had a chunk of offcut that had the grain pattern i needed and tried my best to carve a nut holder ( funny)  that looks like it had a ribbon on the front.  queen bee is the type of box o im having fun with it . also tried a little dye. im gonna sand the dye down and leave just the darker in the cracks , then stain . the bone nut will sit in the crevice. when i glue it to the neck. thanks fo askin Uncle. my firt attempt at really sorta carvin. making something round and shapley isnt no easy feat. im glad oak is so hard. im used ot shaping steel so it helps.

  • Looking very good.  What is the story on that cool nut?
