    Great idea Bruce I as trying to figure out a way not to chew up the blade teeth , didnt even think of clamping something on top.  right on thanks man.   See what happens when you think outside the cigar box.   thanks Uncle Peezalot

    I just clamped a piece of 1/8" thick x 3/4" wide brass bar stock (happened to have it laying in the shop) to my saw for a depth stop and it works very good.
