  •  mate, this really is a piece of work, i reckon one of the best ive seen here, are you gonna give us a video demo, or what.

  • Wow, that is hot!! Lots to love on that one!

  • nice one jeff love the horseshoe type pup thats cool :)

  • tremendous work jef - this is amazing...

  • Wow, this is great! I love your string through pickup. I used to have a 30s horseshoe magnet lap steel with pass through strings. It was the best sounding lap I've ever had. Wish I'd never sold it. I didn't know what I had back then...

  • Awesome build bro...well thought out design...looks like your making leaps and bounds with your pickups...fantastic!!

  • Hey I love this! Totally from scratch? How'd you make the body?

  • cedar top and back, chambered oregon core, cookie tin lid 'cone' , Qld walnut neck, string thru pickup etc

bbe58ccb.jpgstrings go thru the nut rather than drop in, head scarfed on sidewards

cf9dfd7e.jpg2634d1e5.jpgbuilt up with veneer and rebated back with router

eebb7e3e.jpg66393939.jpgd6fc6027.jpg3b3592ba.jpgbuilt up with magnets and bits of a broken hacksaw blade and veneer.  The strings go through the coils.. (its a bucker, the switch on the coverplate is series/parallel option for the lead pickup..) this type of pickup is a 50s concept from steel guitars, although I am not aware of any humbucking ones.  the Supro and Fender ones are among the best guitar pickups ever made imho.  This is my first crack at it
