I just found a Johnny Marvin tenor ukelele in the attic looks to be 1930 era. It is missing the bridge. The airplane bridge would be perfect to repair this relic.
Thanks for sharing Jim. Ya, that Lindbergh bridge is a real nice touch. Helps to place the instrument into it's historic time period. My friend Jim Mitchell, who is a guitar builder, is recently getting into building ukes too. Here is a picture he posted on facebook of the body bending mold. You may consider contacting him. I am sure he may have some questions for you considering you are a player. Enjoy, Keni Lee
Nice old tenor! My friend John Bird has a Johnny Marvin concert ukulele with an airplane bridge, but the tail of the bridge goes under the strings and the nose points towards the butt end.
Thank you for your kind words. Ya, over the years I accumulated at lot of guitar trivia. Things like this bridge, that I find interesting, I figure others will enjoy seeing too. Ya, it is definitely fun to share. Enjoy.
Very nice Keni, I can see that a bridge like this would give very good additional support on the face of the guitar plus adding a nice look as well thanks for sharing Keni, I love being surrounded with musicians such as yourself, it's more than just playing it's being and knowing as much as you can and enjoying all the gizmos and gadgets along the way.
