  • Probably not that easily defined without a meter hooked up.... but my experience and my own ear tell me that the range is bigger and the sound is louder.  I have a Fishman Solo with two inputs/channels and used that amp to test my piezo setup and there was a distinct difference.... I have not, however, tested the larger disk against two smaller disks wired parallel or serially to the jacks.

  • Bigger sound, as in more volume, more range, or is it easily defined?

  • Thanks, BeatleJuice and David!

David, I think there is a difference with the larger disks so I use those almost exclusively on instruments that get piezos.  I did a side-by-side comparison with both sizes installed into the same instrument with dedicated jacks to each one and there was clearly a bigger sound with the larger disk.  I think they can be a little more difficult to tame, though, so it's best to experiment with placement and dampening techniques before committing to closing the box and stringing it up.... hope this helps!

  • Great ad and photo!

  • The figuring on that neck looks really nice.  Have you found any difference between 20 and 27mm piezos?  Or have you tried 20's at all?
