  • The only problems with this can is the small cross section of the opening restricts the volume. I'm thinking of adding a piezo to this one so I can feed it through my Cigar Box Amp. The smooth wire string works nice with a slide. This build was an "engineering exercise" to try out some Ideas I had with some assorted stuff I had laying around in the garage. So far every build I have done has had it's own personality. That's what makes this so much fun.

  • Ha!  That is not what Gibson uses.   Lots of good ideas there Thomas.  I have didley hoe (an old family hoe handdle) that maybe I will get in the mood to try that with.  I see.  You have the large part on the 'out of the way' side.

  • Thanks Uncle John. The frets are nylon wire ties. They work great and are easily adjusted to fine tune. It's strung with .041 stainless steel aircraft safety wire. Tuned in G. The neck was made from the roller of an old pull down window shade.

  • That looks right out of 1932.  Great.  What the heck are those 'frets'?

  • 6th Build, 3rd Canjo, 32" scale, Polishing Cloth can.
