8-string mandolin, standard tuning, 13,3"scale length, mahogany & oak neck, oak fretboard, two disk piezos.Sounds surprisingly good acoustically. Pretty loud and very mellow for a mandolin. All the more after I added a violin style soundpost (sounds fancy but is just a piece of an old broomstick stuck between soundboard and back…). The piezos sound too sharp and tinny though – should probably have built in some kind of preamp. Thinking about putting in a magnetic pickup instead – any recommendations what works well for a mandolin?Anyway, now I’ll have to learn how to play the mandolin…

I have done that already, thanks Uncle John. Printed out a sheet with all the easy chords. But it's the right hand that still has to learn a lot so I can produce some real mandolin music...
