Juju, I checked your fret wire bender photos in the "tools" blog. I thought it was very well done. I'll build one for myself soon because I'm also building an acoustic right now and I'm gathering parts and pieces for another electric too. I'll have to pick your brain about where you got your rollers and how you slotted them. Nice work! BTW, the stew-mac micro-router base was pricey, but I use it all the time and it's worth every penny.
Yep i've seen it before in the stewmac catalog as with all stewmac tools there good but come at a price - much better to make your own anyday - i did the same with the fretwire benders i made looked at the stewmac ones and improved on them i made three for less than i could have bought one for at stewmac and they were much better http://www.cigarboxnation.com/photo/fret-bender-finished?context=user
- i need to make me a good router attatchment for my dremel because the standard dremel one is rubbish ..i know i have one lol!
keep up the good work
juju :)
Juju, thanks. It's a copy of the one in the Stew-Mac catalog that I couldn't afford. I like building my own tools and jigs when I can. I just scaled the photo in their catalog, and built out of 1/4" plexi with aluminum rails. It's meant to route bridge saddles with the bridge mounted to the guitar, but works fine just taped down like this. I use it with my dremel, an 1/8" down-cut bit, a stew-mac micro-router base, and my own plexi added to the bottom to fit the rail guides.
