9th build. First attempt at a License plate guitar. 3 string GDg, 25.5" scale,Oak neck,Maple wings on head stock Mahogany fretboard, Rod piezo under the license plate under bridge.

I put the rod under the plate, sandwiched between the plate and a 4" stainless steel bowl. I use short bolts through the bowl and plate that thread in to the bottom of the bridge. I think the bowl inside the box helps amplify the resonator effect somewhat. The result sounds pretty good whether amped or not. But it's awesome with a slide and some reverb dialed in.

I was thinking it would pick up vibration from the whole plate. seems to work quite well. Normally my rod piezos are directly under the saddle.

Only question..why the rod under the plate, they work better with string pressure against them from the saddle.
