Thanks for the comment! The 6-string War-and-Peace-o-caster is 25 1/2" scale. The box I used is 12 1/2" x 9 which is larger than most cigar boxes so I figured it would work well for a 6-string. I had the neck lying around so it seemed like the perfect fit.
That sounds awesome! The license plate guitars I have seen, most of the boxes appear to be built, rather than using a cigar box (probably since yeah, it'd be hard to find a CB with those dimensions). Also since you're making it a 6-string, a custom box with sturdier wood, would probably give it a little more strength and support for the neck.
So yeah, with that strat neck you may need an additional inch or so at the base of the body. As you can see in my images the bridge I used when almost right up to the end of the box. But luckily it all worked out =)
Hi its dr. jones, caught you on youtube lastnight, holy s&%@. You got some skills bro. I am really excited someone bought one of my guitars and it gets to go out there and do its thing the right way. Sorry I was a little ''simple'' in my instructions on how to tune, most people I have sold to dont even play guitar so you have to make it simple. Thanks for the invite, cant wait to here you rip on your new girl. Keep me posted. Dr Jones.
