Howdy folks,
I have a request from a friend to make a one-string CBG that will serve as a Diddley-Bow.
(I have yet to make a Diddley-bow, but plan on making myself a traditional broom handle one next.)
I have noticed that on some one-stringers, the

I just bought a 3-Way toggle switch from C.B. Gitty and looked at the wiring diagram that he has on his website. Way too complicated for me to figure out.
Can anyone simplify the wiring for me please?
Thank you!

Howdy folks,
The consensus by builders of the CBG is that 'Electric' is the way to go . (The vast majority of CBGs are electric.)
The commercially made Ukuleles have such a unique sound and it appears the majority of them are acoustic.
So........how

I am a CBG maker who is going to start my first CBukulele.
What are some types of 'strings' that I should consider buying?
I believe I read where the strings traditionally should be tuned to G-C-E-A. In looking at a Ukulele at a music store, it app

Howdy folks,
Some time back, I read on CigarBoxNation about 'grounding' the strings....and I can't find the conversation anywhere on here.
So I thought I'd just go ahead and ask:
(1) Is it necessary to ground the strings, and if so what is the intent

Like others have mentioned, I found that using Hot Glue to stick the Piezo Disc to the box, then putting a glob of Hot Glue on top of it really helps to get rid of any 'tinny' sound. It does, however, muffle the sound somewhat where the Amp Volume ne

Howdy folks,
With regards to my one-string CBG (not a lap Diddley-bow) that I am making, which string do you suggest I use and why do you suggest that string instead of a smaller/bigger one?
Also, what string height do you recommend?
Thanks,
kieta

Howdy folks,
On my last question about fretted versus non-fretted....the response actually overwhelmed me. (Must have been an interesting topic that folks have serious opinions about.)
So now I ask:
When my fretted 3-string guitar gets here, I plan

Howdy folks,
I have tried both light rope and thick leather lacing for Guitar Straps.
Yes, they work fine but once I tie them with a knot on the CBG Strap Peg, it is a hassle to try to untie the knot....so I just have been making a separate Guitar St

Howdy folks,
With regards to the height of the string above the CBG Neck:
- is the correct terminology to call it the 'action'?
- on a Fretted CBG, is that measured from the top of the Neck or from the top of the Fret?
- what height do 'most' folks

Say a person had their strings over the Frets at a height of about 3 - 4 mm.
And say the top face of the box was slightly lower than the Fret Board.
Is there a String height over the box that would be too high?
What are the downsides to having a Stri

I have 2 CBG that were made by other folks.
One has a Nut-to-Bridge measurement of 23-3/4" and the other is 25-3/4".
1. What is the shortest Nut-to-Bridge measurement that a CBG should have?
2. What determines what that measurement should be?

I see on some CBGs that the Bridge is placed at a slight angle, instead of perpendicular to the strings.
Why is that?

Howdy folks, - I am building my first CBG.
With regards to sound:
1. Does it matter where in the box the piezo is located?
2. What would happen if it were mounted on the outside of the box (i.e. under the strings close to the bridge)?

Howdy folks,
I am a complete newbie to 3-string CBG.
If I need to be posting these BASIC questions elsewhere....please direct me to there.
Why do I see some CBG with frets and some without?
What are the advantages to either?
Thx....
