The wide variety; that so many people are capable of building one from the simplest to the most complex; that they sound so real; that it's a nice community of like-minded music lovers on here.
I've been gathering ideas and materials for several years now, and now THE INSPIRATION HAS HIT!I'm building my own mahogany box which will be 2 1/2 inches deep and maybe 8 inches by 12 inches. I want to set it up so the top and bottom are as free…

I'm far from being an electrician, so I had to search the internet to figure it out-but I found randomly flickering LEDs at evilmadscientist.com, then bought some with the same amp draw at radio shack, along with a bracket for 3 aaa batteries and a pack of mixed resistors. I had to make each one a separate circuit-there's a word for it, but I can't remember what it is-but I powered it with the 3 AAA's and hooked it to a push button on the front and glued a copper end cap onto it.
After I figured out the proper resistors, it worked on the second try.
I think there are more photos and pics on my Facebook page- M.T. Cigar Box Guitars. Page has been neglected since my son was born, but I try to update it occasionally.
Thanks again!
