Hey Albert,Thanks for your comment on the lever bass. It sounds great, although not much volume unplugged as the box is not very deep. I plan on adding an extension of some sort to make the box deeper to get more air volume. I'll also add an adjustable leg extension for the lower end of the neck, as it is a little low to the ground for me to play standing up. Learning how to spin it around in true rockabilly fashion!
Welcome aboard, Albert! You will find lots of helpful folks and information here on all things CBG (CBU, CBB, etc.) Feel free to poke around, ask questions, and post your stuff (photos, recordings, videos, etc.).
Hello to all....I have heard alot about Cigar Box Nation on Youtube comment boards. I have been building cbg's for a year now and have my first festival to attend in Dec. 4 Arnaudville "Fire and Water Fest." and am looking forward to any advice from any more experienced builders. I have been a carpenter all my life so that helps. I have build 15 cbgs, so far mostly 4 strings, a couple of 3 strings and one six string strat type one that took forever to build. They all are fretted and play well. I will begin selling them as of this Dec. 4, 2009. Note. The first time I took my CBG out to the local open mic. night I was heard by the local radio station and I had my own one hour interview the very next week on our local radio station. These things are nothing but fun and I really really like the no real rules aspect of cbg making. My only rule is that it has to play and sound good or its just a wall hanger, just as soon keep it at home.
Peace, from where the Bayous Cross.
