My first attempt at building a CBG has had its problems, none that I wasn't able to overcome. It is fretless and I can't wait to strum and slide. I'm still waiting.
My question is; how does one get enough tight on the big string, ideall
I was just given a "vintage" (politically correct for old but of no value) Xacto kit, in it was a small block plane and what ever this is! The plane I'm good with, but this, don't have a clue! Don't know what it is, what to do with it or even What to
I have actually figured a few things out. I came up with a drilling pattern for wiring, 4 holes and 1 or 2 slots. Shane built his 2x4 steel in an hour, I'm at 2 weeks and counting, That's how my brain works, much navel-g
Chalk this up under the heading "I've Got to Know"! I'm sure I've seen them before but never paid much attention to it. I was looking in the window of our local now defunked guitar shop(we're talking 50 yrs here) and I remember seeing a bridge that h
Hi All, just thought I would show this "000' size acoustic/electric guitar I have just completed. I have just got to set it up for delivery now that have played it in a bit. It sounds better each day.
Some of you may know that I've been building CBGs for the troops. Without a "official" way of communication with them(as to who or where) the CBGs are just sent to a quarter master somewhere. Anybody who has served overseas in a combat zone knows abo
Im working on a build for someone out of a wine bottle box. The guys adamant about not covering the logo and just doesn't seem to understand where the bridge has to go based on the scale length. Its a 12" long box and i wanted to use a fixed bridge
Oh baby! As many of you well know I've been looking for volume knob decals for my builds. I was looking for Wet slide off decals, but the ones I found were pricey to say the least, let alone not really what I wanted. I did come across a YouTube video
Hadn't seen anyone post this, but in season 3, episode 9 of "The Santa Clarita Diet" there is a scene where CBG's are plainly visible.
When Drew Barrymore and Timothy Oliphant go looking for the character Ron, they end up at Ron's friends apartment.
I'm assembling parts for my next build; I'm trying a number of things I haven't done before - a little worried I'm piling too many new things in fact - but I'm going to give it a shot.
- Using a hardtail bridge - never used one before. Got a pretty o
On the 1st of October, Val (my wife ) was rushed to the hospital , coughing up a lot of blood . 2 days later they transferred her to a hospital 2 towns away . She has since had 2 surgical procedures to try and stop the bleeding from her lungs
I've been kicking around the idea of building or buying a Looper but don't have a clue on brand or price. I would 'like' a 2 or 3 channel minimum 3 min recording, entry- mid level. I see lots of them for sale on eBay and marketplace ranging from $20s
I'm off work for a couple weeks and I got a lot to build. Todays build is a Diddley Bass made using a Johnnie Walker Whiskey Tin a long piece of pine and bass parts.
I'm loving this thing already, it may be the shape of the tin, but the sound is supe
Hey all! Going down the rabbit hole (a trip I take often) of string weights and hope to bring some of you along with me this time :-) Recently finished a dulci-tar build for a customer who requested 6-1/2 and 13-1/2 frets with 3 strings 'Dad' tuning.
For the sake of simplicity, your scale is 25" and you are using a 1/4" bolt for the nut and a 1/4" eye bolt for the bridge. So the 25" is center to center. Correct? When I'm laying out the frets do I take into account 1/8" (1/2 of the nut to center)
