it appears that Wayfinder has deleted his account.

he doesnt show in the members section and EVERY post and thread he started seems to be missing.

ALL OF THE INDUCTION pickup thread is gone, not just his postsbut all post in any thread he started.

so this begs the question what happened?

Dunno. This has happened before, at his own instigation.

As far as the induction thread goes, that can be recreated. We know how to do it now.

true we can make them easily now, its just a shame that all our posts went as well. its the discussion and exchange of info that will be missed not only in the induction pickup thread but in all the amp and preamp threads as well as the build ideas threads..

I made the decision to suspend Wayfinder's account yesterday, after discovering a post of his that I considered to be in extremely bad taste and highly offensive. When suspending him, I did not select the option to delete his content.

Later yesterday, he chose to fully delete his account, and all of his content, from Cigar Box nation.

All of that content disappearing is a blow to the site, and I knew it was a likely outcome when I made the decision to suspend him. I also knew that there were members here who would likely be upset by this and possibly choose to leave the site. I stand by my decision.

I am not going to lay out all of the details of what he posted, or his controversial history on this site. I also do not want to see this thread devolve into a flame war. If it does, I will close it.

thank you Ben.

personally im not going anywhere. i still have a lot to learn from the good folks here.

Glad to hear that Timothy, thanks for being a member.

No worries. Not gonna question your decision; you fund and support the site, so as far as I'm concerned, we're just the funky, sometime loud and unruly neighbors you let live in your basement. ;-) There's no reason to have this particular thread, or any other for that matter, devolve into a flame war.

But I do have a quibble with the original poster being able to delete ALL content from his post. I and many others contributed A LOT of OUR content to that post, and it got deleted without OUR knowledge or consent. That, I think, is the main issue for the CBG community here at CBN, not how or why Wayfinder got booted.

I fully support you in your decision to toss a tosser.

You're right... that side of it really sucks. That one person can wipe out so many contributions from others with one fell swoop.

Is there any kinda database way to sort through the "deleted" stuff so that all but Way's posts remain?

We archived most of his stuff back in December, the last time he said he was leaving the site forever. We've also found a web archive that seems to have grabbed most of it... though some of it a few months back. And it doesn't seem to have photos:

So, most of the content isn't lost.

Most unfortunate, but it is a limitation of the forum tools. Ben, thanks for keeping the site's integrity in tact, and for letting us know as much as we need to know.

I appreciate your taking the time to leave a message, John. Thank you for being a member.

Man, that truly sucks, not going to inflame anything here i hope, but as Oily states, a lot of communal input on a few threads involved, very sad we've lost that, but Ben, for what it's worth, you've overseen other flaming wars before without the need to get involved, so i accept that this was a bit worse, and you were compelled to act, which is absolutely your right.
