it appears that Wayfinder has deleted his account.
he doesnt show in the members section and EVERY post and thread he started seems to be missing.
ALL OF THE INDUCTION pickup thread is gone, not just his postsbut all post in any thread he started.
so this begs the question what happened?
true we can make them easily now, its just a shame that all our posts went as well. its the discussion and exchange of info that will be missed not only in the induction pickup thread but in all the amp and preamp threads as well as the build ideas threads..
I made the decision to suspend Wayfinder's account yesterday, after discovering a post of his that I considered to be in extremely bad taste and highly offensive. When suspending him, I did not select the option to delete his content.
Later yesterday, he chose to fully delete his account, and all of his content, from Cigar Box nation.
All of that content disappearing is a blow to the site, and I knew it was a likely outcome when I made the decision to suspend him. I also knew that there were members here who would likely be upset by this and possibly choose to leave the site. I stand by my decision.
I am not going to lay out all of the details of what he posted, or his controversial history on this site. I also do not want to see this thread devolve into a flame war. If it does, I will close it.
thank you Ben.
personally im not going anywhere. i still have a lot to learn from the good folks here.
Glad to hear that Timothy, thanks for being a member.
You're right... that side of it really sucks. That one person can wipe out so many contributions from others with one fell swoop.
We archived most of his stuff back in December, the last time he said he was leaving the site forever. We've also found a web archive that seems to have grabbed most of it... though some of it a few months back. And it doesn't seem to have photos:
So, most of the content isn't lost.
I appreciate your taking the time to leave a message, John. Thank you for being a member.
Man, that truly sucks, not going to inflame anything here i hope, but as Oily states, a lot of communal input on a few threads involved, very sad we've lost that, but Ben, for what it's worth, you've overseen other flaming wars before without the need to get involved, so i accept that this was a bit worse, and you were compelled to act, which is absolutely your right.
