That is wierd, I thought I heard on the news that she had passed a few weeks ago, but I was in the other room and maybe misheard.

But anyway, if you want to listen to some great Etta James, her Chess record stuff is stellar.

There is also a great performance of her on Austin City Limits from a few years ago.
