The boxes I currently possess aren't long enough for the scale length to work out unless the neck attaches outside the box. I would appreciate some help. Also What is the ideal box for this project?

It's long scale, but the neck does protrude slightly into the box as you can see in this video of it:

I did it similar to this, I just had more wood sticking out so I could actually do a neck pocket. Matt

I have the same problem, I have a couple of 6 string necks I would like to attach, but the bolts are outside the box. I plan on cutting the neck slot deeper and gluing in an extension block that the neck will bolt to. Everything will need to be reinforced to support the extra tension of a 6 string neck.
