Capo

I have made a duct tape strap and a wine bottle slide. Now I want a home made capo. Has anyone had any success making one they care to share? —B

  • if it is for a fretless, try a capo for under the strings, like a thin dowel or a bolt depending on the action. put it where a fret would be.

I used duct tape and string. Although I guess technically it is gaffers tape. This is one of the first musical techniques i learned in the early days of punk rock. The only thing different than the picture here is that I am tying the top end to the head stock, as it was too top heavy to work on the guitar body.

  • Elastic bands and pencils work fine for me. Basically the same as what jim said really. I was thinking of making an adjustable duct tape strap once but never got round to it and made one out of an old pair of jeans instead. Can we have a picture of the duct tape strap? I like duct tape.
