My products have made it into Sight & Sound Music

Dropped off some pick art and guitar neck coat racks at the Muncie, IN-based music store.  You may be more familiar with their online division, World Music Supply.  They will be carrying my stuff in the brick and mortar store.  It felt really good to get the things I build into their shop.

I am trying to convince them that the CBG market is untapped in our area and that it is ripe for sales.  Maybe I'll drop one off as a gift for the employees to check out.  They have zero guitars that are specifically geared toward slide and I think my guitars would be an ideal way to get folks into slide guitar and they could set them up to sell some resonators and lap steels in the future.  Does anyone else have experience in this area?  I could use some pointers if you have.

If you decide to push CBG's, you'll have to stay at it for the long run if you want credibility.

There is a large music store chain in the region that got convinced by some guy to start carrying his CBG's. But he didn't do any promotion, demos or anything to brew-up some interest in the product. His guitars were staying on the shelves (though I must admit they didn't look very good when next to some Godin and Fender offerings) and the sales people just saw them as mere toys. The company tried to get the guy to come back to pick-up the guitars but he never did. This gave CBG's a heck of a bad reputation in the region.

If you want to get an idea about how things are in your area, ask sales clerks about what they think of the Seagull Merlin. That should give you a good starting point. Sales and promo is mostly a listening game. Listen to what they say and plan your game accordingly.
