Rod piezo and bridge

When installing, are best results with rod under lid with bridge directly over or with rod notched into the bridge? Also if it's the latter do the two need to be touching or just within 1/8" or so gap?

Hi, the better the contact of saddle to piezo the better the sound, even better with a pre amp. You have to have good down pressure from strings via the saddle to get the best even responce.

you can put a piezo on the peghead and it will pick still up vibrations. I've found the  better the contact a strip piezo has with saddle it gives better sound.
