i'll post pics as soon as i can but here's the materials i have so far:

2qty 3/4" 1/4 round red oak from Lowe's

I like the Rocky Patel boxes.  They work pretty well for acoustics.  Welcome.  Bet you can't build just one (or two in this case).

hahaha, yeah, i've already got a couple more i'm planning. obviously i'm way too excited about this.... haha.

total cost so far btw anyone who is following is about $37 per guitar. pretty sure some people would have had a finished CBG by now. lol. meh. this is fun to me so the end price doesn't really matter as long as i'm happy with them, and it's something i enjoy playing.... i love making music.

welcome to  the addiction  Zach  ;-)

haha, yeah, exactly....i've already figured that out. hahaha.

quick question:

do bar piezos onlyyyy work with pressure on them or do they work differently depending on how much pressure you put on them?

the  key  phraze  here   is   " they   work  better " with pressure on them.

depending  on  the quality   of the  rod  ..  you   may   get  sound without  pressure at all  ..   but   you  will  get  "better"  sound   with it  .

cool, i got an idea for a bridge, it's kinda sorta complicated but it should work great either way, whether i get one that is good quality or not........i know CB Gitty manages this site but are his bar piezos pretty good quality?

i  havent  used  gittys  bar  ..  but  i  have  heard any complaints  about them .

Gitty's rods work very well....and give of a nice tone under pressure,  the rod is inside the wood saddle being pressed by the bone horns....here's a good example http://www.cigarboxnation.com/video/the-longhorn-test

i'm thinking about sandwiching it in between two pieces of ebony, surrounded by wenge.

maybe something like mahogany or oak on the bottom and ebony on top, i don't know if the ebony on the bottom would be necessary, seeing how you really just want the part picking up the sound to be touching the tone wood

I have the "blueprints" for my bridge drawn up, if I can post a pic from my phone, I will.
