Instead of using the bottom of the tin, which has like a 1/4 inch indented bottom which I think won't feel good when holding the finished instrument, I decided to use two lids from identical cookie tins. Idea came from Bairfoot Cajun who recently made a banjo using the two ends of a large wire spool as the top and bottom of the body, using screws and bolts to hold the two resonating surfaces together.
