  • Thanks, Norbert, I appreciate you taking a listen!

  • Thanks again, Dave ... ;)

  • I listened again. Nice play! Love your rendition.
  • Nice playing!

  • Nice! One of my favorites.

  • Ah-ooo-ooo! Wuff! Wuff! ... me-oow?

  • I must try that tuning. I was trying it in dad tuning and it was tricky to get the notes needed on the high part. I usually do the tune on a six string in Spanish tuning.
  • LaFave is LaGood!

  • Thanks a lot, guys, all of you; Uncle John, Wes, Rick, Gary W., Anon, James, Dave , Jim. I'm truly humbled by so much interest and favorable comments.

For those familiar with this tune, I used an alternative open D tuning; instead of D-A-d, I went with D-F#-d, which made hitting the melody work out the way it did. This allowed me to spread the melody out on all three strings pretty easily.

I'm not used to working with that tuning, so it was an adventure and an outcome that was well pleasing. It may be my new favorite!

So glad you all liked it ... thanks again.

  • I listened again. This is one of my earliest tunes on guitar. I learned the "bump diddle" rhythm strum from the Carter Family back in the day.
