For years, I've had an 8" Celestion speaker I've been waiting to use. I finally broke down and bought an unloaded cabinet from SundoCrafts on Etsy. It pairs nicely with the speaker and sounds pretty darn good. After putting it together, I did some sound samples with my Smokey amp and cigar box guitars.

  • No problem John. Glad to help.

  • Thanks for the info, Kale.

  • Thanks for watching Doug. I am so excited about this little cab. Probably too excited... LOL.

  • That is one fine looking cabinet Kale! Obviously the head you use is going to be the main factor in the tone you get, but it needs to look good with the cabinet in this case. I enjoyed the video and your excitement over the faux alligator skin!

  • A guitar amp is made of two components, a speaker cabinet and an amplifier. Normally, these two are together and that's called a combo amp. But if you separate them, it's called a cab (speaker section) and head (amp section). So a cab doesn't not provide it's own power or preamp and a head does not contain speakers. Having a head/amp situation offers more flexibility (because you could have multiple cabinets used together or separately) but requires you to transport 2 pieces instead of one.

  • My guitars won't fit in that little cabinet!   I like your shirt.   Ooooh.  Great, great looking cab.  I like it.

Please enlighten me, Kale.  I came late to this music hobby and don't exactly know what a cab is for.  Increase the volume of your amp?

That thing sure is a beauty.
