Sounds good. Possibly a little too high ended. Maybe using heavier strings and lower tunings will improve the balance. Usually aluminum is not used for resonator bodies. The softness tends to absorb the sound. Although, essentially using a face mounted pick-up negates the cone all together. As you noticed, you are going to have feedback problems with a hollow body at higher volume levels. Regardless, it is a very fine proto. Happy Holidays. Enjoy.

Beautiful sound. And the looks reminds me of a woman of my acquaintance. She wears thrift shop and reworked ragbag clothing by choice - along with a leather jacket and pair of Prada boots that came with price tags that would pay my mortgage for two months. She's a study in contrasts - and utterly lovely, both to look at and listen to.

Sa-weeet! hey when it comes to setting up you'll be glad to learn I just figured out what my 4th skinny string was tuned to (lol!) by using an online tuner-its C sharp.So thats A/E/A/C sharp. Cheers! 'belly.
I'm still learning with each guitar I make. The 4 string resos are more difficult to get right than the 3 strings, as it's very easy to overload the cone. The cone sinks quite lot under the pressure of the strings, so it's really important not to use too high a string tension. Also, getting the geometry of the neck/body/saddle height is critical to get them playable - setting the action is time consuming and fiddly..I usually end up having to take off the coverplate and re-string at least 6 times, and re-cut the saddle at least twice.
