Good stuff!
Thx everyone, for the likes and comments - it is greatly appreciated!
Yep, I like this kind of music too.
Sweet...
Thanks @ Clock The Wolf!
Yes! Real good......
Yep, it is a pretty widely known tune @Jim Morris.. I can never seem to get the timing quite right until i've been through it a couple of times with the fiddler though ;) I've been to the Gardner fest in the past. I'm mediating a beginner frailing banjo class at Pattyfest this year, if you are interested it is a great festival!
Yup, by WV fiddler Ernie Carpenter. It's one we play pretty regularly here in the Potomac Highlands region of WV. It's about a 2 hr. drive to Morgantown from here and we play music there 3 or 4 times a year at Worley Gardner Festival and at WVU for various things. It'd be great to meet up with you at some point.
@Jim Morris, one and the same! Matter of fact, I play a number on banjo you've probably heard of that I believe was written about the flooding of that valley called "Elk River blues"
Well done! Where is this Elk River? We've got one in WV that was flooded by the WPA for hydroelectric and has songs written about it.
