Thanks much RTZ. I had a Morris guitar once just because it had my name on it. It was a crappy Martin knock off made in Taiwan (I think) but I kinda wish I'd kept it - warped neck and all.
All the neighborhood cats are safe around me Dave, lol. As are my neighbor's goats and calves. I like doing things in the old way but if skins and gut strings are available online that's a much easier and neighborhood friendly way!
Your neighbors best watch their cats Jim. I've gotten old Ukulelles with real gut strings. They still tensioned up without breaking. I'm going to try the nylons on my fretless 4 string. Thanks for coaxing me Jim.
Thanks Derek. I love the sound of a natural skin head and nylon strings. I'm tempted to try actual gut strings, which I'm told are available, but cost 2 or 3 times as much. Still it would be worth it for comparison purposes.

Old school beauty . If you were born 200 years ago
we would be talking about Martin, Gibson and Morris

I think you'd like the sound and feel of them Dave.

Great old timey sound, Jim. I like the mellow tones. AND fine playing!
Thanks AGP. So many instruments - so little time.
