  @Uncle John - The box was actually pretty sturdy by itself so I didn't reinforce it. Since it is a pass through neck, the neck takes all the stress and the bridge holds the box in place pretty good. I carved out the neck inside the box everywhere but where the bridge sits to get some resonance on the soundboard.

  Who would have thought that a shoe box could sound like that (obviously you gave it some help). Really nice. Enjoyed the playing too.

  Questions:  What is the box made of?  Did you reinforce it?
