“One Scotch, One Bourbon, One Beer" (as it was originally titled) was written by Rudy Toombs and recorded by Amos Milburn in 1953. It is one of several drinking songs recorded by Milburn in the early 1950s that placed in the top ten of the Billboard R&B chart.Other artists have popularized the song, including John Lee Hooker in 1966 and George Thorogood in 1977.Chorus: (and after each verse)One scotch, one bourbon, one beer. One scotch, one bourbon, one beer. Please mister bartender, listen hereI ain't here for trouble. Have no fear1 scotch, one bourbon, one beer.Don't want soda nor bubble gumYou got what I want. Serve me someSince my baby's been gone, everything's lostI'm on this kick and I can't get offMy woman put me on this spreeI can't find her and she can't find meLeft this morning, wouldn't stayBeen gone all night & now it's the break of day.One more nip. Make it strongGot to find my baby if it takes all night longOne scotch, one bourbon, one beerOne scotch, one bourbon, one beer

Thanks, Muddy John. Good and easy song - my specialty.
Jamie it would be a blessing. Linda and I are going to a good Mexican food place for lunch. It would be so fun to have you along and then bring you back to the music room for a bourbon and songs.
Now that's a subject I LIKE, John Neat performance, neat whisky ( how I always drink it, who puts coke in except women?!. Btw, I love how you give the history of songs . Many a night, reading your histories has helped me get to sleep! ;)
