Thanks Andries. The box has a plywood top which looks like it may be cedar. Tapping on the top gave a nice deep sound so I thought it would make a decent uke.
Thanks RTZ. Yeah, I had reservations about doing this song on uke and it's certainly a lot different than Mississippi John's wonderful finger style that I learned it from but clawhammer on uke seemed to work out o,k.
