The only cbg content is in the background - Ha! I WAS going to post an original coronavirus song on cbg BUT I got diverted when a friend dropped off this guitar yesterday saying I could use it for parts, and I spent most of the day making repairs, cutting slots in the bridge, re-bending bent tuners, etc to make it playable. Still high action but... OK for cowboy chords and can't beat the price. It's a 1960's / 70's Decca made in Japan. I thought I would play a song from that era.

  • Not bad at all i swear i could hear the mellotron on the background ! Got a Susuki my self and thats a real good build ! but still use it as a six ! now you can do all that birds stuff !  nice Derek !

  • Thanks Rick! I love this song and thought this guitar might be fun to do it on. :)

  • Thanks Pic!

  • This guitar isn’t ready for pasture, sounds wonderful as you play it! Great cover from a great album. Nice singing, really brought a lot o memories back!

  • wow .

  • Thank you, Alan! Love the Moody's. And all the music from that era. To paraphrase that Johnny Cash song...  One STRING at a Time ;^)

  • Thank you, Danny! Just keep practicing it, that's what I do. Until my wife makes me stop.... ;^)

  • Thank you Nancy kat, love the photo!

  • Thank you, John! Very nice of you! This guitar has a lot of volume so I played gently since it can drown me out. It has a wild reverb echo on the treble strings. It gets jangly on single note runs. It's a plywood top, couple of splits on the top, couple extra holes on the side of the upper bout and someone actually screwed the trapeze tailpiece down to the top (!) but she still wants to sing LOL. Thanks again :)

  • Poorness, Uncle John said if perfectly, they are great for the right situation. I grew up listening to Gordon Lightfoot, Jim Croce, John Denver, and always loved that sound. The acoustic lead in Chicago's If You Leave Me Now is a great example. Then there are a few that use them almost exclusively and it works like Melissa Etheridge and Leo Kottke. I like the electric 12's too. George Harrison. Tom Petty, The Byrds...  sweet :)  But a lot of the electric players that briefly went acoustic for MTV's Unplugged def were cheesy
