Inspired by last weekend's UK cigar box festival - here's a new tune I've been working on - played on the 'Widowmaker' wine box guitar, made by Banjo Ant.

I do have a bit of compression and a little distortion added via the AW4416, which helps. And its the telephone ear-piece that I've wired up as the microphone. The lo-fi sound gave me confidence to actually record my diabolical vocals ;-)
I was messing around with eq, distortion and various mics for ages trying to get this sound then I laid my hands on the telephone handset for a fiver and job done. I figured you weren't serious about the lip syncing - but it certainly looks like I am from the vid. :-)
Blimey it is sensitive. I was considering a pignose megaphone. http://www.pignoseamps.com/index.php?disp=detail&subcat=megapho.... Also picked up a vintage Pignose amp from ebay the other day. Wonder what my voice would sound like through it? I should imagine you could also get a similar sound with your pod Rackmount and a Shure sm57? I was only kidding about the lip synching, Tone. It's just my sense of humour. No slight intended.
No lip syncing there Norm although it might look like it when I turn away from the telephone. Its surprisingly sensitive enough to pick me up even when I'm not facing it. Thanks to BB Redshaw and Bob Log III for the telephone mike inspiration - and to our local car boot sale for the handset.
Thanks for viewing again guys :-)
