National 1133

I know it's not a cigar box but I wanted to share my new Christmas toy--a 1950's National 1133 student guitar. Someone decided it would be cool to strip it of its mother of toilet veneer so it was at a price I couldn't pass up. I had the frets redressed, a new biscuit installed and a new set-up at Gruen's in Nashville. She's singing again. Need to get used to the 3/4 size and play around with some different sizes of strings.

  • Sounds wonderful and looks great too. Nicely played.

  • great sound!!!

  • The 3/4 sizes are really popular now in resos. They're great for travel. I'm probably gonna have to install a pickup in the national. It has a open back (cool but useless). You can feel the sucker vibrating against your chest.

  • Nice.  I am with Rich C. in liking smaller sized gits and the carryover to cbgs.   :)
