I agree Kale! This is another song chosen by the Slingers that I was vaguely familiar with, but am glad I learned. That’s a big part of the fun of playing with a group; everybody knows different cool songs!
Thanks Rich and AGP! I had to check out the other versions on YouTube! The song is more classic than I knew. I like the guitar on Gordon’s version and the Janis version is, well, signature Janis. It’s fun to hear how different artists interpret a song.
Nicely done. Gordon Lightfoot recorded this song too, using a quicker tempo - although he had at least 3 more strings to use, sometimes 9 more - on just his 1 guitar.
I appreciate the good words Uncle John! I actually used the Charley Pride version on YouTube to learn this song. I suspect those differences were the “lotta Doug”! LOL! Actually I’m not that great at spot on imitation. Learning new songs is fun, but I don’t always pick up on or am able to remember the finer points.

Thanks Danny! I never know which songs everyone here really will identify with. I enjoy the surprises!
great cover
Thanks Rope! My goal on each song is to be “good enough”; it satisfies. Glad to hear I passed muster!

Good enough for you, Bobby and me too.
Such a great song. Good old Kristofferson.

"Yep!", Nice performance of a Classic Song Doug & Slingers, covered by many, the Janis version being my own personal favourite :-)
