My mentor B_HT turned me onto the Kodaki8. It has a stereo TRS input for audio & you can capture your audio straight from your mixer. Thus making a high quality audio track with your video. I find the audio quality to be superior over Garage Band & a phone mic, plus your getting a synced video. I picked up a complete package on eBay for cheap $$$, I highly recommend it, great tool to improve your grove.

Hey Jim, yes Kodak Zi8, my bad. I've been using the slang i8 instead of the correct name. I like it so much I may buy a second as my buddy uses 2 when he makes his videos. Really cool to have 2 synced cameras running from different angels. Then you edit with your movie software & you have a sweet little production.
Is this the Kodak zi8? If so I found one on ebay that I'm bidding on (cheap) even though I just bought a zoom q4 (not cheap) mainly so I can plug my mixer into it. Thanks again for the info.
Sorry Jim, posts got deleted?? Yep Kodak real easy to use & records up to 1080 & holds a 32G card. If you buy one be sure it has the charger & 2 factory cables. 1 HDMI to USB & another with 2 RCA for AV playback. But to record stereo audio there is a separate input for a male 1/8" which I grab from my mixer with 2 RCA's out. Plus you can play back the audio with the factory cable back through mixer to your monitors. EZPZ!! Got the whole package shipped for 38$.

Thanks UJ!
I was having all kinda issues with Garage Band not capturing the raw sound I like to produce. That little Kodaki8 does the trick.
Sure sounds warm and good here.
