I decided to try out several different found materials to make kazoo reeds. I used the super cool DIY Kazoo from Black Owl Guitars for this video. I used: wax paper, receipt paper, candy wrapper, parchment paper, tissue paper, and cigarette paper. Which one do you like best?

Thanks Doug and AD. I feel like the candy wrapper gives a bit mellower tone but I think the cigarette paper is the clearest. The tissue and parchment worked surprisingly well too. Who knew?
i told you ! sigaret paper gives the best rezonance ,to my ears at least ! Rezo -paper- membrane!
Krazy Kazoo King Kale, another interesting video. The receipt paper gives the best Donald Duck tone of the lot! I think I like the candy wrapper best! Thanks for breading our musical horizons.

Forgot to add, Clarke sells 2 kinds of replacement Membranes- synthetic & a premium natural that are really good? They’re really loud on the count of the reinforced outer rim? The Natural skin one is as close as you can get to an old time kazoo sound? You used to be able to get Hohner membranes at the music stores back in the day, not so much now! Kazoo on! :)
