  • Thank you Jason for your comment and question. The large box for the reso I found on ebay. It is a turn of the century vintage box from an importer of jams and jellies called S.S.Pierce. The bass was built by Richard Sanabia here on the Nation. I believe he built this box because he needed a box large enough to produce those low tones. Enjoy.
  • that is awesome! Where did you get those big boxes??
  • Thank you Warren for your comment. Enjoy.
  • Ditto! Just awesome!
  • Thank you Fernando for your kind words, encouragement, and generous rating. Bill is a good friend, who I met years ago while attending a guitar seminar at Columbia Univ. in NYC. He is a wonderful player and the best sideman. He just released his first CD. I appear on one of the tracks too. Please check it out:

  • Thank you MichaelS for your comment. The reso was built from a large vintage box from S. S. Pierce, an importer of jams and jellies that I found on ebay. It was thicker, but the builder, James Millinchuk cut it down. Richard Sanabia, here on the Nation built the other one. Due to the fact it is a bass, it needs a big box to resonate those deeper tones. But, I agree it does look funny. Enjoy.
  • OK, I know its been said already but, those are some big box's!! I don't think I need to tell you you guys can play.
