Hi, I checked with Steve what he was doing as I had fitted the guit with meadium weight strings, here's his reply:
"I’ve tuned it DAD (so the bassy end of open D tuning); I’m playing through a Vox VT40+ amp and using the in-built 'tape echo' and reverb effects; For me, the strings are REALLY heavy which tends to sound fuller (which is why I asked where you got them from… on guitar I use absolutely the lightest strings possible); I’m slightly palm-muting the bass string which slightly deadens it, making it sound more percussive"

You have a low thump tone going on that's intriguing to me.
Are you using a bass string on top?
Really like the simple feel of this too.
