Another cigar box fiddle. This one has a simpler , easier to make headstock that I'm experimenting with. Original tune played to backing track by turtlehead. While I was doing this demo words kept popping into my head so now this is turned into a full song which'll be posted in a few days.

  • Thanks Maddog!

  • Damn Fine Jim........Damn Fine!

  • Thanks RTZ. The song will be posted tomorrow with what I'm hoping is an old Jim Reeves kind of vibe. Back in the 70's my band opened for him and other wonderful old country artists at a local venue and I really fell in love with the old country songs back then. But I was in to R&R and wouldn't admit it back then!

  • Very nice track and playing . This begs for some 1960's Merle style lyrics. Really like this

  • Thanks Dave. It's been a journey for sure and still a good ways to go! I have a couple of friends near me who are some of the best old time fiddlers in the area, heck, in the world, and they're kind enough to show me stuff whenever we get together for tunes. That's a real big help.

  • Good on you Jim. You can hear the hours spent on you music. Bravo.
  • Thanks Gary. My fiddle playing is slowly improving but at the expense of some other things. Over the last year 1 to 3 hours of practice just about every day and most of it on fiddle. Starting to understand why they used to call it the Devil's instrument!

  • Wow Jim!  Rockin' the fiddle!  Inspiring!

  • Thanks Nancy!

  • Fiddlelious Jim!!!!!  Sounds great with Turtle's background music!!!Meeeowww^..^306549502?profile=original
