Not our normal fare, whatever that is, but I go where the Slingers tastes lead! More info and free songbooks: https://sites.google.com/site/cigarboxguitarslingersspokane/home

  • Neither did I Brian!!! You just never know. I’m sure there must be a story behind learning that on the piano. Thanks for listening.
  • Wow, never thought I’d hear this one on cbg :) in fairness, this is one of the first songs I learned on the piano :D

  • I’m impressed Jim with your more creative use of blackberries Jim! We picked over 40 1-gallon freezer bags of the tame (thornless) ones from our backyard. Froze half and gave the other half away. I love frozen blackberries on my cereal!

Polka music is new for the Slingers, but we are happy to roll out the barrel. Enjoy your wine, …, and song!
  • I didn’t even think about Octoberfest Kale! Maybe that’s why the song was picked. I was familiar with the classic chorus, but needed YouTube + the Andrews Sisters for the rest.
  • Perfect for Oktoberfest. I mean... it was cancelled this year but it would've kicked off this week.
  • Sounds like a cool set up.

  • Thanks Uncle John! The gang had been pretty consistent for our meetings from the main songbook. Unfortunately, no bass man this week.

My long neck surf ‘n turf string set features a trimmer line string that is tuned 1 step below the A string on a 4-string bass and it adds some bass vibe to my normal rhythm play. I am really enjoying playing it, especially when I’m playing alone.
  • Nice.   Is the bass man on  cigar box bass?   The gang's all here
